Vacation Blues

Palm trees at Coronado
After vacation I’m usually itching to get home so that I can sleep in my own bed and detox after overindulging while away.  Not this time.  Something was different about SoCal.  I saw and experienced so much during my week in San Diego, and did my fair share of overindulging, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that there is still so much more to SoCal that I have yet to discover.  Maybe it was that I encountered some of the nicest people I’ve ever met or maybe it was the endless shorelines and beaches, being in San Diego almost felt as comfortable as home.

  2. Thanks Bre :) You will absolutely love SD! It's true what everyone says - the weather is PERFECT! So I recommend doing as many outdoor activities as possible, which isn't difficult with all the options SD has to offer. Definitely try out the beaches. I loved Coronado Beach. Definitely try a watersport - I kayaked in La Jolla which let us see breathtaking views of the caves, the beaches, and the million dollar homes on the coast, not to mention we were kayaking right next to dolphins and seals (note: La Jolla was my fav place we visited, I say it's a must). The zoo is pricey but it's a must and worth every penny. You also have to check out the Gaslamp District. Our hotel was right in the middle of it so we walked around a lot and there are a ton of bars and restaurants there. For Mexican food I really liked Mama Testa and El Indio. Chocolat had the best gelato. Kansas City Barbeque is a tourist attraction but had some of the best bbq I've ever had. The Fish Market has beautiful views of the harbor and the king crab legs are totally worth the money. I could write a ton more so if you have any other questions let me know!
